Redalto Completes Domain Name Migration
22 March 2010
As communicated in May 2009, Redalto Communications has been undertaking a project to migrate our domain name registration customers to our new wholesale "domain name registrar". This activity relates to problems we were experiencing with our former supplier that forced us to seek an alternate solution. The migration process has been completely managed by Redalto and our hosting clients will not have been affected, other than seeing a change in their domain name registrar of record.
The domain name migration process has been gradually facilitated through the domain renewal process. When each client's domain name has come up for renewal, we've taken that opportunity to migrate the domain name to the new registrar. The main objective with this approach is not to prematurely invoice clients for domain renewals before they were due for renewal.
However, due to increasing degradation of service at the legacy Registrar, we've been forced to migrate the remaining domain names in batch during the month of March.
As a result, some clients will see a domain name renewal charge on their next invoice that they may not have expected.
It should be noted, that this has only affected a small number of clients. Furthermore, premature renewal of domain names does NOT result in a lost registration period. If your domain name was due to expire in 2011, or later, an extra year has been added to your registration period. All domain name invoices will clearly show the new domain registration expiry date.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our clients for their ongoing support during this migration phase. We hope that our full service approach and professionalism in managing the migration of your domains (without any interruption to web or email services) is further evidence of our dedication to quality and service when it comes to managing your online business.
