Answer:

Redalto Windows Hosting plans support ASP Classic, ASP.Net 1.1, ASP.Net 2.0, ASP.Net 3.0 and the latest update ASP.Net 3.5. Below is a brief overview of the various Microsoft ASP web programming technologies within the context of ASP.Net Framework.

Active Server Pages (ASP or ASP Classic) is Microsoft's Server-side script engine for dynamically-generated web pages. It is an add-on to Internet Information Services (IIS). Programming ASP websites is made easier by various built-in objects.

ASP.Netis a set of web application development technologies by Microsoft. Programmers can use it to build dynamic web sites, web applications and XML web services. It is part of Microsoft's .NET platform and is the successor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology.

ASP.Net 1.1 was released April 2003 and provides improved scalability and performance, support for Internet Protocol version 6, and native communication with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and Oracle databases.

ASP.Net 2.0 was released November 2005 and introduces a number of new features such as new data controls like GridView, 'master pages', and improves in areas such as Support for 64-bit processors and full pre-compilation.

ASP.Net 3.0. There are no major architectural changes included with this release but includes a new set of managed code APIs. Unlike the previous major .NET releases there was no .NET Compact Framework release made as a counterpart of this version.

ASP.Net 3.5. Version 3.5 of the .NET Framework was released in November 2007. As with .NET Framework 3.0, version 3.5 uses the CLR of version 2.0. In addition includes the updates of .NET Framework 2.0 SP1, .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 (with 3.5 SP1) and .NET Framework 3.0 SP1. ASP.Net 3.5 does not affect applications written for version 2.0.
