Question: How do I upload my Website?
This question relates to category Web Hosting
Answer:
In order to copy your files to your website you will need to use an FTP program to transfer files from your PC to the webserver.
Examples of popular FTP programs are; WSFTP, CuteFTP, SmartFTP, or the built in FTP application of your web development program (eg, Dreamweaver)
When using your FTP client use the following settings
| ftp host: | ftp.yourdomain (eg, ftp.redalto.com) |
| username: | same as your account name |
| password: | same as your account pass |
| host directory: | www/ |
Depending on your FTP client, when you log in to your website you may see a folder called public_html. This is the main folder of your web site and where you will need to upload your web files to. Make sure the main page of your website is called index.htm or index.html.
