Question: How to Setup an Exchange Account in Entourage 2004

This question relates to category Hosted Exchange

Answer:

  1. From the Entourage menu select Account Settings

  2. Select the Exchange Tab, and then New (to make a new account).

  3. The Account Setup Assistant will then be presented. Entourage will try to connect without all the necessary options if you use this, so instead, select Configure Account Manually from the bottom of the window.

  4. You will then be given the Edit Account window which looks like this.

  5. Fill in each option for this tab. You should not need to make any changes to the other 5 tabs although you may need to go to the Advanced tab and select the checkbox next to DAV Secureity required.

Note - Because Managed Exchange requires SSL, ensure that the Exchange Server entry reads: https://me-au.server-secure.com/exchange.

If you wish Entourage to save your password and not prompt, then check the "Save password to Mac OS keychain" option.

  6. These are all the settings that are required. Once you select OK at the bottom of the Edit Account screen, Entourage will then start to synchronise your local machine with your Managed Exchange account. This can take some time as it is dependant on how much mail is stored on the server, and your connection speed.

  7. You may wish to watch the progress of this action. To do this, select Progress from the Window option at the top of the screen. A progress bar will then display.
The user will need to select Security under the Advance tab to ensure “DAV service requires secure connection” is ticked. The port should already be set to 443. If not, change it.

Please note, telephone assistance for the Hosted Exchange product is only accessible via the Hosted Exchange support number. For telephone assistance please call 1800 800 099. When telephoning, please make sure to have your Exchange client number and password ready.
