Redalto Communications Support Site
Question: What is the default home page of a hosting account?
This question relates to category Business Hosting
Answer:
When a request is made for your website, Redalto's web server will look for a default home page, or what is otherwise known as an 'index page'. An index page is the front page of your website and must have one of several names in order for your site to be displayed correctly. Index.html is the most common name for an index page, but it can also take the form of one of the following;
index.php
index.html
index.htm
index.cgi
index.shtml
Please note, our server will look for your index page in the order listed above, so if you have a file called index.html and another called index.htm, index.html would always be displayed first when people visit your site.
index.php
index.html
index.htm
index.cgi
index.shtml
Please note, our server will look for your index page in the order listed above, so if you have a file called index.html and another called index.htm, index.html would always be displayed first when people visit your site.
